Please note that effective November 5th, 2001, this Consulate General is no longer accepting applications for visas submitted by mail. The Consulate accepts only visa submissions brought in by the applicant in person or by a family member/third party properly identified and
authorized by a document signed by the applicant(s). Applicants who cannot comply with those procedures may use the services of a visa service/visa

Photocopy of the relevant pages of passport,
authenticated by the Consulate (the Consulate reserves the right not to endorse soiled, damaged or defaced passports.).

Two visa application forms, completed and signed by the applicant.

Two passport-type photographs, in color or black and white, front view. Sorry, but snapshots
and computer photos will NOT be accepted. |

For applicants over 18 years of
age, a certificate of non-criminal record. This document may be obtained at the Police Department in the city where the applicant has lived for the previous year.

Original letter of invitation from the Brazilian institution.

Document giving details of work place and type of activities to be carried out by the applicant.
|

 |
A written statement from the Brazilian institution assuming full responsibility for the maintenance of the applicant while in Brazil and for his/her return to the country of origin.

 |
Health insurance valid throughout Brazil.
|

 |
Constitution of the Brazilian institution, i.e. social statutes, articles of association, appointment act or nomination of the current board of directors and proof of registration with the respective National, State, Federal District of Municipal Social Welfare Council (authenticated photocopies of current documents).
The request must
be presented to diplomatic missions, consulates or
vice-consulates with
jurisdiction over the city of residence of the
interested party, along with the following
documents, besides those required by the Law nr.
6815, of 1980, and in the Decree nr. 86715, of
1981:
I – document from
the entity with headquarters in Brazil inviting the
foreign individual to work as a voluntary worker;
II – document
from the entity requesting the visa showing that it
is registered with the institution’s authority;
III – document
proving nomination, designation or election of the
present board of directors;
IV – proof of
registration at the Social Services, whenever it
applies, or certificate of qualification as a public
organization, issued by the Justice Department,
whenever the case;
V – document
specifying the place where the voluntary services
will be rendered and the activities that will be
performed by the individual;
VI – statement
from the entity proving that they will be
responsible for the foreign individual during their
stay in Brazil and for his or her return to the
country of origin;
VII – statement
from the organization or institution that is doing
the invitation saying that they will assume all
medical and hospital expenses of the foreign
individual invited, as well as all of his or her
dependents, during their stay in Brazil;
VIII –
certificate of no criminal records;
IX – document
that proves professional experience or qualification
compatible with the activities to be performed;
X – proof that
the entity is working full time. |

Please note that after all the documents are received, the visa application is submitted to the competent Brazilian authorities in Brazil for a final decision. Therefore, the process takes time and the visa cannot be issued before an authorization from Brazil is received. |

An
International Immunization Certificate
against yellow fever is required if the traveler
has been to any of the following countries
within the last 90 days or will visit any of
them before entering Brazil: Angola, Benin,
Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon,
Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia,
Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador,
Equatorial Guinea, Guyana, Ethiopia, French
Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea,
Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia,
Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Panama, Peru,
Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tome &
Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan,
Suriname, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago,
Uganda and Venezuela. List of countries endemic
