An artist or an athlete participating in artistic or sport events in Brazil without a contract and without receiving payment for services rendered (air ticket, lodging and basic living expenses excluded) may be issued a short-time tourist visa. Visas may be obtained in person or through a visa service/visa
agency. In addition to meeting the requirements for a tourist visa, the artist or athlete must present a letter from the sponsoring party in Brazil stating the non-commercial nature of the event and that no payment for services rendered will be received.
For artists or athletes performing professionally, with a contract and receiving payment for services rendered, the sponsoring party must submit the application for a special kind of visa (Temporary Visa III) to the competent authorities in Brazil.
