Edison Lobão receives U.S. National Security Advisor
Jim Jones
This Tuesday (04), General James, a.k.a. Jim Jones,
National Security Advisor of U.S. President, Barack
Obama, will be received in audience by the Minister
of Mines and Energy, Edison Lobão at 10:30am.
In the agenda of the
meeting, there will be discussions about the
possibilities of
bilateral
energy cooperation
between Brazil and the U.S., as determined by the
presidents of both countries.
Jones' visit continues the bilateral
understandings, which accelerated after the visit of
the Executive Secretary of the MME, Márcio
Zimmermann, to the U.S., in the first half of July,
and the Minister Edison Lobão's visit, between the
18th and 22nd
of July.
The meetings allow us to foresee significant
opportunities for U.S. investments in the Brazilian
energy sector, including a larger participation of
North-American energy companies in Brazil and a
continuously increase in the participation of Petrobras in the North-American oil and natural gas
markets.
