Brazil and England will promote the exchange of touristy experiences during the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics

If FIFA chooses England to host the 2018 World Cup, the country will be, next to Brazil, the stage of the main sport events of the next decade. This convergence of interests brought together VisitBritain and Embratur (Brazilian Institute of Tourism) - tourist organs of both countries, who formalized a cooperation agreement for the exchange of experiences in the tourism sector and to promote the image during the World Cup and Olympics.

"It is very important to Brazil to learn about other countries' experiences in the tourism sector when they will or have already hosted big events. We want to ally the knowledge that we have, especially regarding the preparation for the Olympics and the World Cup, with what other countries are experiencing", said the president of Embratur, Jeanine Pires.

The proximity with other countries' organs that promote tourism, like Australia and China who hosted the Olympics, and Canada who hosted the winter Olympics, will also be part of Embratur's actions. Embratur already has a strategic plan to promote tourism internationally, targeting the 2014 World Cup.
